Launch of the new IPA 5 project in Kosovo*

An EMCDDA delegation visited Pristina to meet with the National Coordinator for the Strategy against Narcotics in order to address the establishment as soon as possible of a drugs observatory in the country. The EMCDDA offered its support to assist Kosovo and its institutions in the field of drugs through advice and expertise in this matter. Moreover, the EMCDDA also met the Kosovo Agency for Medicinal Products, the Kosovo Forensic Agency, and the Ministry of Health. A future visit of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the EMCDDA was proposed. The following priorities for cooperation were also highlighted during the visit; support to the development of a national Early Warning System, further strengthening of monitoring and reporting of supply data, monitoring availability and provision of drug treatment and providing assistance for the establishment of a national drug observatory.
